Where We Drink

A pub or bar will only be added to this listed if it meets the criteria that we look for in our own Moon Under Water.
It is not enough to simply have a bottle of The Kernel on the shelf, if the interior is lit up like the sun and Kylie is on the jukebox. There is an argument that the only food a proper pub should serve comes in crinkly foil bags, but that does not cut it these days with the cognoscenti and hipsters. In fact, decent burgers and ribs should make any beer anorak happy.

In no particular order:

The Draft House, Various Location

The Craft Beer Company, Various Locations

The Lyric Pub, Soho

The Euston Tap, Euston

The Old Red Cow, Smithfield Mkt./Barbican

Dukes Brew & Que, Beavertown (Hackney)

The Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak

Many more to follow and if you’d like us to add your pub to this list, invite us on twitter @beeranorak for a pint, we’re buying.

    Hi there,

I am writing from one of the UK’s leading production companies, Lion Television, about a series we are currently developing for BBC4 about home-brewing competitions and the art of brewing your own beer.

I’d love to chat to you further about it if possible and would be very grateful for 5 minutes of your time. My email address is katharine.patrick@liontv.co.uk or my direct number is 020 8846 2174

Thank you very much for your consideration and I hope to speak with you soon.

    All very best wishes,
